Sci-fi RPG series Deus Ex has reportedly been “placed on hiatus” for the foreseeable future, reports Eurogamer.
Publisher Square Enix made the decision due in part to underwhelming sales of the most recent Deus Ex game, Mankind Divided. The company’s recently announced shift into the development of Marvel games was also a factor.
The decision to nix the third part of the installment leaves several story points hanging, while a new DLC diving into Jensen’s history, dubbed “Criminal Past” has been announced for February.
Eidos Montreal, the developer of Deus Ex is currently busy with Shadow of the Tombraider and a newly announced Guardians of the Galaxy game.
